Reading and writing are the art of language, it's part of putting down on paper a thought or an idea in a way that someone else can read it and understand your thought or idea. Language is powerful, in some ways magical and mysterious, just think of how amazing it is to read a person's mind, or plant a thought in someone's head. That's what the art of language is all about.
Mastering the Language Arts is like practicing a sport or playing a musical instrument so we will spend some time practicing the tools and trick needed to become a master of language. We will also practice our art with journals and notebooks and by reading books and magazines.

Hi Kids, you have to check out this website. Storyline is a place you can go to hear picture books read by real actors. There is a good selection of books at this site and the moving pictures are great. Let me know which actor you like listening to the most.
Reading Planet
Here is another great website to check out. At Reading Planet you can look at all types of books, they even have booklists of the grossest books and the spookiest books. They have a game section and an activity lab too. So go take a look.
Online Comics and Books
You need to visit FunBrain. It is a fun site with great books you can read online. In fact, if you like comics you will love this site. Look at "Galactic Hot Dogs" and "Tess’s Tree". There are also games you can play at this site if you like.
